An 11-year-old mountain biker rang 999 after becoming separated from his parents in a Lake District forest.
The boy was in Whinlatter Forest, near Keswick, on the bike trails on Saturday when he became lost and couldn’t find his own way down.
After failing to make contact with his parents, he called 999 at around 4.45pm for ask for help.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, Cumbria police and staff from Cyclewise searched the trails for him.
He was found and escorted to the ranger’s office to be reunited with his mum and dad.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team praised the 11-year-old, who they said was a very competent mountain biker, and said his decision to call 999 was sensible.
